INNOVA 3D Construction Concept Home

Our design team curated this conceptual model that will be constructed using 3D printing. The design influence started with the local demand for affordable, middle income housing. This simplicity of this design allows for the house to be scaled from 600 to 1,200 sq. ft.

To demonstrate the versatility of 3D printing, the corners are curved creating more functional space. The layered pattern of the concrete ink can be left raw or painted. It can also be plastered with a mortar mix or stucco. This also supports greater flexibility for interior finish options from tiles, wall paper, or gypsum to name a few.

BB3D’s proprietary concrete ink has been proven to attain strengths upwards of 7,000 psi up to 10 days post application. This speaks to the quality of the concrete and its robust nature. Also, there is significant reduction in the amount of waste generated when compared to traditional construction.

Human capital

Globally, there continues to be a shortage of skilled/artisan labour. 3D construction reduces the dependence on labour and the susceptibility to delays, errors, and inefficient and incorrect material preparation. It also offers the opportunity for traditional artisan skilled labour to be retooled as operators of the technology.
